Badlands Residency Day 4

Another full day of work on posters and display information surrounding my upcoming exhibit at the Dahl.  I joined friends for dinner, though brought my work with me and continued well into the evening.  A friend who was working at the local bar offered to cook everyone dinner, so we met up for a nice meal, some card games, and in the end an impromptu dance party of sorts.  An effective way to settle the nerves and relax a bit.  Plus I managed to win the night's rounds of cribbage against a South Dakota state champ.  I'm sure he'll get me back though...

Badlands Residency Day 3

It's been a long day of work.  Still very cold outside, but apart from stepping out for a few photos and walking to the visitor center and back today, I stayed in, hunkered over my laptop.  Hopefully I'll soon be ready for the big unveil of this project.  Today's pieces were designing the content and layout for two large posters that will be displayed in the visitor center along with the triptych of paintings I donated last year and a print of The Slide.  I'm struggling to visualize a 6x8" working image as a 30x40" finished product.  I also worked on the supplemental materials that will be part of my exhibit at the Dahl Arts Center, which opens on friday.  It'll be a busy week!  Looking forward to some downtime outside next weekend.
