Badlands Residency Day 24

We had a nice, warm day today, albeit rather breezy.  Headed out for some rock hunting with friends.  After a few hours of that we came back, played some horseshoes and basketball, and grilled dinner.  After dinner was a free for all game of softball.  No teams, just each man for himself.  We all randomly took turns batting or playing outfield, and all tried to get each other out if we weren't actively running bases.  A good outside day.

Badlands Residency Day 23

I drove into Wall today to pick up some groceries and find a copy of South Dakota Magazine, which published one of my paintings with a little write up about my residencies and current exhibit at the Dahl Arts Center in Rapid City.  Came back home and painted for a couple hours, then cleaned and did laundry.  Spent the evening with friends, eventually heading down to the Wagon Wheel as we waited for my family to arrive for a visit this week.  A couple of very happy boys burst through the door around 11pm.

Front page of the local paper and a page in SD Magazine.

Most recent painting, just about done.
